What is your favorite genre in Reading?
Here's my answer, in order my favored genres are:
- Fantasy
- Young Adult
- Mythology
- Science Fiction
- Historical Fiction

What is your Writing genre?
Again mine are listed below in order from greatest to least.

Isn't it strange how my reading and writing genre's differ a bit? Are yours the same way? I think it is highly interesting. I also find sub-genre's interesting.
For example, my novel, Black Rose Chronicles, is, mainly, a fantasy novel, but it's sub-genres are:
Gothic
Dark
Mystery
Extra.
Do you know about sub-genre's? There are so many out there that i do doubt i could list them all!
If you know about them and your writing a novel, why not tell me what your sub-genre is? I'd be very thankful to know!
I am always interested in knowing what my fellow writers are doing. I want to become a part of the society, the family, of the publishing world.
We may be able to do it alone, but together it's all the better!

Nice post. To answer your question, my reading genres are:
1. Horror/Thriller
2. Sci-Fi
3. Fantasy
My writing genre is something I am still figuring out. I actually enjoy other genres in reading, but I didn't want to list them because I have no idea how they would be categorized. For example, I like histories (fiction or nonfiction), so is that historical fiction or just literary fiction? Genre is one aspect of writing I am truly weak at.

Thank you for answering me! Your reading genre's are truly interesting! Horror/Thriller novels {or short stories in the case of authors such as Edgar Allen Poe} are fabulous! my number 6 I'm sure!
As for your wonder over the historical topics; it would be historical fiction or literary fiction depending on what it is about, but if it's an account of History, no false details, I believe it then becomes just History. Though I am not positive!
I, myself, am no the best with genres either. It wasn't until recently that I figured out what my novel's genre was {though I'm still debating it} so I understand what you mean when you say that.
