Writing Genres

We all know there are different genres in writing. Even people that don't write know that! You walk into a store or library and ask for a book, half of the time their going to ask you for it's genre.

Now my question, for anyone that happens upon my blog, is the following:

What is your favorite genre in Reading?

Here's my answer, in order my favored genres are:

1. Fantasy
2. Young Adult
3. Mythology
4. Science Fiction
5. Historical Fiction

Now please feel free to comment your answer to me! I'd love to know what your favorite Reading genre is!

Now i have another question along the same lines.

What is your Writing genre?

Again mine are listed below in order from greatest to least.

Please do tell me what your favored Writing genre is!

Isn't it strange how my reading and writing genre's differ a bit? Are yours the same way? I think it is highly interesting. I also find sub-genre's interesting.

For example, my novel, Black Rose Chronicles, is, mainly, a fantasy novel, but it's sub-genres are:

Gothic

Dark

Mystery

Extra.

Do you know about sub-genre's? There are so many out there that i do doubt i could list them all!

If you know about them and your writing a novel, why not tell me what your sub-genre is? I'd be very thankful to know!

I am always interested in knowing what my fellow writers are doing. I want to become a part of the society, the family, of the publishing world.

We may be able to do it alone, but together it's all the better!

A Big Question

Is life worth it?
Do we have the right to do such?
Why are we here?
What have we done to live so well?
I don't know why, but I know one thing well.
We do not have the right to go around as if there is no reason.
Life was given to us for a reason, use it.
Help, don't harm.
Love, don't kill.
Care, don't hate.
Forgive and forget, don't take revenge on memories.
I am the farthest from perfect on these terms;
That just means I have been where you are;
I came back.
Let everyone live life to its fullest, for we don't have it for long.
What ever they may be,
let them be whom they are.
If god is real, I don't think he would hate anyone,
just for the way they are?
If any of the gods' are real
Would they be good to follow if they hated man?
I have no belief in any,
but I follow my soul;
It tells me no they would not.
I am a hurtful, evil-like person,
but I shall be the first to stand for the life of another.
This war, it sends tears to the eyes of many.
the lives of children, are they but toys to thou?
this war, it is not a helpful thing.
if this is what we do with life,
do we have the right to live?

Strange Questions

"Why do you write so much?"

That's something I'm asked all the time. All I ever do in reply is laugh and smile. In truth I have no reason that would satisfy that question. I write to write. My mind is so full with idea's that I have to get it down on paper, not only in writing but drawing too. So to answer that question a little better then "i write to write" I suppose I write to give life to my minds many creature. Not only the creatures, but the people, plants, worlds that I think of and dream of.

"Why do you write so depressingly?"

That's another question that comes from every ones lips. Its not that I write depressing stories, its just that the characters live like real people. They have problems, some worse then others. Its not that they seem to have more problems then normal its that in reality no one really gives truth to the problems they face. Everyone faces different problems but in all they still face a problem. So I write about different problems. some that anyone could face and some that they couldn't or at lest shouldn't.

"Do you believe in what your book says?"

That's something I've been asked before too. In truth, I do. My book has demons, humans, all sorts of creatures and magic. I believe that demon walk among us all and that creatures lay hidden from humans. I believe that inside we all have a power, good or evil, that we have to unlock and enhance until its our own. Worlds with magic and strange creatures might very well be earth. When we learn to open our eyes and close our mind, we'll see a lot more.

"Are you used to being yelled at for what your book says?"

I get in a lot of trouble because of what my book has and what I wrote above. People don't like it when others start to say that demons and such are real. I understand that but i believe that they are so I'm not going to lie. My book are not meant to hurt anyone or anger anyone. If your not a fan of what my book says or has in it then don't read it that all i have to say to that.
